Handmade Monday

Scraping in once again.  Needed a serviceable bag for a couple of trips and this is what I came up with having rummaged in my stash for stuff that I won't need for a project.  This corded velvet has to be 20/30 years old, if not more.  I am sure I had it to make a pair of trousers for someone but goodness knows who.   I can't imagine a child of today wearing it can you? lol.  I think the purple was curtains at some point in history.  Just call me tight, I don't mind.

A visit to Handmade Monday on 1stUniquegifts.blogspot.com would not hurt you.  An ever widening collections of handmade products well worth a viewing.  IMHP  of course.

  1. I can remember wearing corded velvet trousers about 20 years ago but can't imagine anyone wearing any nowadays. It's obviously been kept well and is now finally being put to good use. x

  3. Wow! Great that you can rustle up a bag when you need one! (Not tight at all - resourceful!) Mich x

  4. A brilliant way to recycle and fabric never eats or drinks so can be squirrelled away for years

  6. Your last post made me giggle. I think you have got very fidgety fingers at the moment, you seem to be producing left, right and centre. The bag is great, I love the shape and the fact that you've used up your fabric - so vintage! Thanks for the offer re: the feed cover, that's so sweet of you, mine's holding up at the moment but I'm holding out for a new machine!!!

  8. That is one funky design. Lovin' the green velvet. Never would have thought of making bags with velvet.

  11. Love the unusual design of your bag. Glad to know I'm not the only one that stashes fabric away for such a long time.! Hugs Mrs A.

  13. I'd guess +30 as I'm sure I had a pair just like that when I was a nipper! The original trousers that is, not the bag!!
